Design?

Does anyone know of a free design software, that u can use to design a stand and such. I've seen some diagrams on RC of tanks and stands and was wandering what program they were using.

I've heard people say good things about google sketch up. I haven't tried it, but here's the link:

If you find out the actual program you need, you can use this text in a google search to download just about anything you need. It searches parent directories. Just replace the words (design software) with the actual program name and search away. The same text will search for just about anything you are looking for, from music to games to software or whatever you need. Just change the key word or words where i placed (design software). It's a nice little line of text to save for future use .

I used Google sketch-up and it worked fine. It takes a bit of getting used to the program. But once you get the hang of it, you can generate some good representations. I gave my design to the metal fab guys and they did a great job. I also used it to design an entertainment center for the cabinet shop guys to build for our new house. Can't beat the software's price.....free.

Good luck if you also want something that calculates loads, etc. I found nothing out there when I was looking six months ago, and have seen similar threads looking for similar to no avail. For this you need to rely on your gut and what others have done for similar tanks.
