Determine Males from Females?

With a pair look for the bigger one. When not in a pair it becomes slightly more challenging. If it is a large specimen for the species and let's throw out, over 2 years old, chances are it is a female.

Clowns are born sexless, for lack of a better term.
--Then they become males
--Then the dominant male in a group will turn female.
--If said female is removed from the group the next male in line will change to female, etc...

Essentially, Yes.

Technically if you have a pair, One sexless will become a male then a female, the other sexless will become a male and will remain a male. It all depends on the development of the fish at the time you get them.

Unless - You purchase two individual females and put them together, then you have aggression and possible death of one.

oh ic. as long as you purchase them as a juvi, then you'll end up with a male and female pair. the key is not to buy two big females.
