Detritus in bare bottom tank

All,

I have a 2000Gal FOWLR tank. The tank is 17.5' X 6' X 33". In the tank I have two wave boxes, four Tunze 6300 (8000gal/hr) and 3 tunze 6500 (20,000 gal/hr).

You would think with that much flow there would be no detritus in the bottom but there is. I even have the controller set on wave action and random flow. I have a lot of large fish and I feed a lot.

Does anyone have any idea what I could do to get the detritus out better. If it is in suspension then the skimmer will pick it up. I don't want to get into syphoning the tank too much as it is large and too much trouble.

The tank is bare bottom. Any suggetions will be appreciated.

thank you

huge tank so there's bound to be dead spots or eddying, try repositioning your Tunzes to break up the areas where the detritus accumulates. High flow to the sump, to move the stuff out?

i use 2 Mag 24 for flow in and out. I only like to use a submersible pump because of fear of leak on a system that large. Do you know if there are any pumps out there that could be better suited to what I am trying to achieve?

Mag 24 is a big pump.

Though I'm on a way smaller scale, find there's only a couple of places where it accumulates in mine. Never used them myself, but what about something like a few of the little Hydor Koralia power heads statically placed to disturb the area where the detritus builds up?

Do you have dense rock work that could potentially block lots of flow hence creating dead spots? Would creative repositioning of the power heads lower pointing upward help?

I like to see a FTS for your 2000G tank, please! :)
