detritus on DSB in sump

Hi there,
this may be a :dead horse: but finally got my tank going a bit. Obviously happy, I now see quite a lot of cyanobacteria that has been there for about 7 months since tank setup. I ran phosphate remover and dose vinegar with my kalkwasser.
nitrates are about 1 on salifert and 0 on red sea
phosphates are <0.03
I am stumped, but find lots of detritus in my sump. cheato grows amazingly well in the sump, first time ever I had good result with this.
Got superfine sand in a DSB in the middle section of my sump with lots of life but also lots of detritus.. do I remove the sandbed? vacuum the top bit?

If your chaeto is growing extremely well, you have higher nutrient levels than your tests indicate. I recently experienced this. That said, I've noticed that cyano can still be present in low nutrient systems. Where is the cyano? Siphoning the cyano and detritus in the sump would be a good start. Adding some flow or changing the flow may also help. As far as the DSB, I know very little so I won't add any opinions on that. Hope you figure it out. Tread slowly, and don't make any huge changes. Ask me how I know;)
