Devil's Hand leather spawning?

I recently added a decent sized Devi'ls Hand and I decided to move it but when I did, it started to release a brown "smoke". It didn't look like it was bleaching or anything, it wasn't gooey looking, but smoky, dusty looking. It did that for about 10 mins or so after I moved it and hasn't done it since. It didn't appear to affect anything... I was just curious if this sounded like a spawning event or otherwise?

My guess is that it expelled waste. My soft corals and my bubble coral does it from time to time.

I haven't had that happen with mine before..Maybe someone with long term experience in keeping one would know; I've had mine about a year now.
