Diamond goby and bluespot jaw fish?

I had a Blue Spot for 6 mos ... he was happy and presumably healthy I added a diamond goby and they fought immediately causing the BSJ to jump and eventually die

I took the diamond goby out and bought a second Blue spot -- this one went MIA within a week (haven't seem him since and am assuming he is gone )

Morale 1: No more Blue Spotted Jawfishes for me
Morale 2: Don't mix any bottom dwelling fish with a happy BSJ

I'm no expert but that is my anecdotal advice...

I have a dsg and a pearly jawfish in a 20g. They dont fight but if the goby gets a little close to the jawfish hole the will open their mouths really big. I have not had chasing or biting. I also have a bicolor blenny who can sit inches away from the jawfish and neither fight. those two get along.

Hmmm. I'm still a bit uneasy about pairing them up. Mainly because I dont want either of them jumping out. Especially the blue spot, that would be an expensive loss. I did have a yellow watchman at one time and added a diamond goby. they did the same thing with the mouths but eventually the diamond went carpet surfing. Mabey if I introduced them in the tank together?
