Been interested in getting a Red Scooter Blenny, I've had a Diamond Goby in my tank for almost 3 years now and obviously don't want to get something that he won't like (he was there first after-all!). I've heard mixed things about mixing sand-sifting Gobies and Blennies so I want to ask here before making any purchases.
My tank is a 90 gallon, current stock includes...
One-Spot Fox Face
2x Occellaris Clownfish (who seem to think my Duncan coral is an anemone...)
Red Banded Fairy Wrasse
Royal Flasher Wrasse
Neon Cleaner Goby
Diamond Goby
2x Cleaner Shrimp
3x Peppermint Shrimp
I also plan on getting a Royal Gramma. The RG and the the potential Red Scooter Blenny will be the final fish for the tank. I obviously don't count the neon cleaner goby towards the bioload because... Well... Com'on
My other thought was to attempt a third Wrasse (another flasher) instead of the Red Scooter Blenny to space out aggression among the Wrasses. The Red Banded seems to mostly leave the Royal Flasher alone with occasional "charges" throughout the day, but I've yet to see any nipping; basically the Red Banded charges at the Flasher, the Flasher darts away by 4-6" and the Red Banded stops, occasionally he'll charge again a few seconds later but usually that's it. This happens maybe 8 or so times per day in total and lasts seconds each time. One thing I've noticed though is that the Royal Flasher tends to stay at the top level of the tank while the Red Banded stays lower among the rock-work (the flasher will go low to sleep and always seemed to stay high even when I first put him in my DT (I introduced the flasher first, added the fairy two days later and kept him in an acclimation box for 3 days).
