okay so out of nowhere i look at my diamond goby and his eye socket the top of it is black, his eye looks like its pushed in towards his skull, and it looks clouded over as if hes blind.

<br> not the best of pictures, from my phone.... but as you can see that eye doesnt look right.....

I dont know for sure but from pic 2 it looks like theres more wrong with him than just his eye. It maybe bacterial. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon, good luck, I just lost mine for some reason a couple of weeks ago.

his body looks fine, maybe a bit skinny, but hes eating hes digging hes cleaning the sand hes lving his normal life other than this eye. i was thinking fungal or bacterial but im not so certain. either way how do i net him and get him to a qt those guys are quick

he also appears to have a "mustache" under his chin. its black just like his eye but hes had that for about a year now and i never thought anything of it.

now the oddest thing is happening my purple firefish and him are sharing a cave just like a watchman and a pistol shrimp do. he seems to come out before my goby then he follows after the firefish. pretty interesting but is this by any means normal haha. also what about his eye please somebody help. he seems fine living the dream and cleaning sand and tunneling =p but still its unsightly and obviously unhealthy for him in some form

It might be popeye (ophthalmia), no not the sailor man. Usually caused by bacteria or a papasite. No real way to treat it, over time it will take care of it self. Sometimes according to the article I read about popeye it may have to do with water condition and the article says that sometimes a large water change or due if this happens. Hope this helps, sorry about your fish,

Del

My diamond goby had an eye just shrivle up and sink into his head. he has been like that now for three months and is doing fine.

same thing here it basically shriveled and just clouded over, is this an issue or a disease? anyone have a true diagnoses?
