Diamond Goby going crazy

So I have a fairly large diamond goby in my 10 gal QT by himself with some PVC fittings.

Every time I walk into my room where my QT is he goes nuts bouncing off the sides of the tank and the lid. Will he eventually calm down? Any suggestions on how to give him less stress?

He will probably calm down once he is in a tank where he can hide. I'd just put a black trash bag or somethin around the tank so he can't see you.
