Diamond goby

Hello,
I have a DG and alot of people said to make tops for my tank cause they jump but I have had it a couple of months and no sighns of jumping i was wondering if i could take of my self made tops and put my egg crate tops back on ?

Mine has never jumped out either, or even went towards the top of the tank for that matter. And I don't think that a diamond goby could jump out of the water and up through egg crate anyways.

I had a diamond goby for a year and then he went carpet surfing. I then got another one and he made it to the carpet through a 2"x2" hole in the aquarium top.

thanks for the response I think I will go back to the egg crate it sounds like it will work just fine

Last week I went thru 2 DGs to replace the one that jumped after having it for over a year. First one went thru the egg crate and I didn't believe it, thinking the fish must have jumped while I had the lid off or something. Got another DG the next day, and sure enough, it jumped thru the eggcrate.
