well i just got some bad news the light i want will not fit on my tank even with the legs. any ideas what i can do? Also i want to put a plant or something in my aquaclear filter to help with nitrates. Any ideas on what i can put in. Also can i have a blue Linka in a 29 gallon tank or is it to small. Thanks for all the help. Oh and if you now about the sand please answer.

get a clip on light form home depot, one of those aluminum parabilic ones for liek 5 bucks, clip it o nthe back, put cheato and rubble in there and its a fuge, that what my bio wheel filter is tuerned into

no one actully knows what blue linka stars eat so most people can't keep them. I think you need at leasst 100lbs of liverock to even concider having one. a 29 gal is really to small for any starfish except maybe a sand sifting star.

i wouldnt use"live sand" it is in a bag with no water, air or temp. control, ive talked to people who haev hjad these bags analized in a lab for bacteria colonys, zero.

dont pay for the expensive aragonite stuff either. In or der for the CACO3 to be dissolved the PH i nthe tank would have to be sooo low nothing could live, it would eat through everythign in the tank(except for glass and silicone)

just buy some quikrete for 3 bucks, or if you can find some, throw in a 50 lb bag of southdown, its this time of yar when it atarts showing up.

i haev 50 LBS southdown in my 29, the storm was bad, but when you fill it up, put a plastuc garbage bag over te sadn and pump water in slowly, we did this in my friends 12 cubwe, worked fine.

just dont disturb the bed fore a few days.
