Diatom outbreak

Noticed a diatom outbreak after dosing brs Alk mag and calcium I do small doses looked good till I dosed I ran gfo did a couple big water changes last and this weekend did a small dose this morning and bam diatom when I got home anyone else have this problem

Ok I got atleast two other people who had and algae problem after brs mag I ordered a new phosphate test kit and plan on running some test of fresh sw about one gallon in 4 containers add 10ml to each one separately then 10ml each in the last one gallon. I may even seal them after and put them under light and see what happens. Also if I find a problem with the supplement is it ok to publish my findings or should one contact brs. Input

Interesting. Tagging along. I just had a diatom outbreak which I haven't seen since my tank cycled over 16 months ago. I also use BRS calcium and Mg. I love BRS and I hope this is just coincidence. Please PM me with the results of your experiment.

seems this is a hot topic that the algae just popped out after changing to LED .is there something wrong ?

Well mine comes up after I dose so I haven't dosed since and algae pretty much gone
