Diatom: which snail and gobie?

Icefire

Seasoned reefer
Got 5 nass. for left over food.

Which snail for diatom and maybe future HA?

Which goby will sift the sand but not create a whole mess?

Got 30x flow and very very very fine 1st 1/8" layer, which now peel like a sunburn because it mixed with bacteria.

If your looking to get rid of HA I would defenitely go with mexican turbo snails. In a week or two they will clean all of your tank.,

A few more nass. snails would be good. My daimond goby does a great job keeping my SB clean without making a big mess. He even puts empty shells in a small crevis. Just be sure all rock is well secured. he will dig a den for him to sleep in at night and if rock not secure it could fall. I also have a hot dog cucumber and star fish. I also did not se and crabs. They help keep surface clean also.

They may not but they do a great job sifting sand.If sand is not sifted through then you can get dead spots. If no sifters are availible the you can turn it up manualy but only small areas at a time.

Any suggestion?

LFS as a banded sleeper goby, probably others but he didn't know off hand.

I want something that stay small and won't create a sand storm, my sand is kinda light.

For diatoms Cerith snails are excellent. they even eat read cyano. I think a lawnmover blenny for the hair algae when and if you get it.

i am using Narcissus snails, Margerita snails, and Mexican Turbo's and they all do well, Narcissus turn over sand and eat food that drops, the turbo's cover alot of ground and eat well, but the margerita snails manage to get into much smaller areas that the turbo's are too big to get into, couple this with hermits and we dont have to do alot of maintenance
