I know diatoms are normal in a new marine tank. I was wondering if anyone knew of any means that they would suggest to help control the outbreak. I already have Nassarius snails sifting the sand. Also I heard that diatoms need light, nutrients, and silicates. I don't know where the source of silicates in my tank is though; any ideas?
