did my condi kill my sps?

I got a 4" condy anemone a few weeks ago, now a few days ago, im having a rtn event with my acros, almost all of them appear to be a complete loss. The anemone is completely healthy, eats five times a day and looks better by the day(I bought it from petco). I dont run carbon, or gfo, so I was wondering if something disturbed the anemone, like a crab or something(it has randomly and completely colosed up a few times), would that make it release enough of its poison into the water to do this?

Well I will say that you probobly fed it to much and it released to much wasteinto the tank casueing the RTN and STN.The anemones shouldnt even be fed 5 times a day.I feed my anemones(not condys)every other week or so.So I think your feeding is what caused it.Check your water levels and see what your results are.

everything tests out fine, Im sorry about the five times a day thing, I ment 5 times a week, and I have a asm g4x hooked up to a 65 gallon system.

IMHO, though a good sized skimmer and you are obviously WAY over-feeding, I can't help but wonder if an ASM G4x is a bit too big for your tank? Also, water parameters "testing out fine", we'd like to see numbers. Without knowing everything else that's going on with your tank it's going to be hard to diagnose the RTN, but feeding that much isn't helping.

+1 on overfeeding....I have 9 RBTAs that I might feed once a week...if that...and it's usually frozen mysis and my clean up crew takes care of the ones they don't get...so def. cut back the feeding and get some hermits, snails and other missed-food eaters!

I have sufficiant clean up crew, If they only need fed 1 time a week cool!, it costs me less, Ive been running the g4 for a year, Ive always fed heavy, and it handles it, and I have had no adverse reactions from it(I set it really dry, it makes about 2 cups of brown/black skimmate a week)all of my tests have been double, and some triple checked by a friends kits, and an lfs params are as follows:
alk:9-10
cal:430-450
mag:1100-1350(over 2 weeks untill water change)
nitrate: 0
ammonia:0
phosphate: .1 (photometer), 2 other tests
its been the same for 2 years, tighter in the alk/cal/mag department when I have more money for 2 part and test kits.
My rodi filters are changed if the output reaches 2tds.
Ive been in fish for 20 years now, reefs for 3, I know what im doing with nutrient export, and my other parameters, and it was the fist thing I checked, my problem seems to be a contamination of some sort(this all happened over night) I was just curious if a condi anemone could cause this and if it happened to anybody. Thanks for your adivice, if anyone else has anything else, please post. On a lighter note, a few days after the fact, the acros that havnt become a complete loss are recovering!! (further steering me in the direction of some type of contamination)

IMHO, it's time to get that condy out. If it didn't kill them yet, it's likely going to uproot and sit right down on top of your favorite/most expensive SPS in the middle of the night. If you want a condy, get a species tank.

anyone else, Im not a hard headed im right idiot and im not starting the im rubber u are glue war, just have really open big ears.

Hmmm, sorry to take you for more of a noob, but more often then not a newbie gets a big skimmer because "it's a good one" and don't know what they're doing with it.

As far as RTN goes, I've had some SPS do it also for no apparent reason. Obviously there was one, I just didn't know what it was. How old are your bulbs? Have you changed salt lately? RO/DI filters fresh? Has anything else changed (even minutely?) CA/ALK swings? your levels now look good, but maybe they were down? I'm just grasping at straws at this point though....

Also, if you have it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to run carbon and/or gfo in the mean time to try to clear out anything that might be in the water.

none of the above, waiting on some money to come in a few days to get carbon, good news though, thicker fleshed species of sps are starting to recover, and sombody has agreed to qt them for me untill I get my system straightened out.
