did my perculas lay eggs?

I recently put another percula into my tank with my single percula. They kicked it off immediately and never left each others side. This morning I noticed one was missing and I found it behind my rocks and it looked like it was guarding something. I see a bit of orange-ish/pink something on my rocks back there by it but I cant tell for sure. Its been a week that they've been together. Could they have mated and laid eggs?

It isn't impossible, but it would be unlikely if they have only been together for a week. Do you have a mirror that you could use to help you see behind the rock?

My Percs lay orange eggs. It does seem unlikely in such a short period of time but you never know!

I checked and I dont think it happened. False alarm!
