So im on vaca, and decided sunday that i was going to upgrade some equipment on my two reef systems (125g mixed reef, 40B mixed reef)...
125g:
i have the older style short necked octo xtreme 200 skimmer with the purple pin wheel upgrade for the psk2500. i am thinking about adding more fish in the next couple months, so skimmer upgrade is a good idea. I went ahead and purchased the gate valve mod and a bubble blaster 3000 for this skimmer. so my sump is a 55g (huge sump for a 125g display), with these upgrades to the skimmer, the skimmer should be decently overrated for my system and maintance program....i also redid my return line so my collection cup was easier to handle..

i went ahead and also ordered two water eductors for my returns, which also will have a scwd on it now. i purchased a bigger heater also, caused ive noticed my house keeps the tank regulated more then the actual heater does. Also i purchased koralia evo 750s that will go on a ocean pulse controller. Along with a TLF phosban reactor and pump to run GFO and carbon. almost forgot, i also purchased a SC150 skimmer and will be mesh modding that. The skimmer should do great for this system and should allow me to over stock a lil bit if i keep it all to small fish in the system..
so over all, my system should look just a lil bit better in about a month or two....its funny cuz im a reefer that doesnt mind the time lapses that go by, in order for your reef to adjust. I really dont mind the process of that only cuz when im able to finally dabble we'll say, i usually game plan like this and buy in bulk to i get to tinker for a while and just observe....
