Did something really stupid last night

NEVER mess with your system when you are dead tired at 1am in the morning....I decided to tweak my dosing pumps last night and accidentally set it on high and dosed 1.5 liters of solutions 1 and 2 from the do it yourself CA/Alk solution.

I did not realize this until I got home from work.

These pictures (from my 120) are after scraping the glass and draining 1/2 the water and replacing the water with water from my 180. The rocks were purple yesterday...

I 'think' everything will live. I had been underdosing by 70% the last week and was trying to make an adjustment.

I tested my alk and it was 12.8, after the water change it was 9.6.

Everything still looked good this morning, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Are you having PE? I have noticed that SPS bounce back much faster than that of coraline algae, that is if they make it through the stressed out eye bugging stage that you are currently going through. Praying does help when this happens!

Once that occurs and the bases look good and they have good PE you should be good to go or rather they should recooperate without too much problem. They are definitely more likely to survive and withstand these types of events if they are mostly cultured or multi generation hobbyist strains! Another reason I push people to stop buying from LFS when something is so readily available from a fellow hobbyist!

Much better.

I think my tang and blenny are doing a good job of removing all of the precipitate off the rocks and the corals never reacted at all to the overdose.
