did starfish eat my shrimp

i had a pretty big cleaner shrimp and i was wondering that the chances are of the shrimp getting eaten by the serpant starfish.

would this fish list be too many fish in a 75 gallon?

2 clownfish
5 green chromis
1 yellow tang
1 blue hippo tang
1 henaciuos butterfly

i should prob get some fish that hang out on rocks and in the sand so if u have suggestions feel free to post.

Skip the serpent star. I saw one catch a perfectly healthy damsel once. That is probably too much tang for a 75 over time.

i havent had much succees with banner fish ,and dont know to many folks around here who have. they feed off coral polyps in the wild i have been told, and i think they also do better in schools. which means alot of swimming room. 75 gallons may not be enough room. just adding my thoughts. fish that hang out on rocks are cool like red lip blenny or lawnmower blenny as far as sand i would go with cerith snails and a lot of them dont know just like those snails really cool animals. have a good day sean talk to ya later.

im going to end up returning the seapant starfish to someone soon. i like my shrimp too much. thanks for for the info steve about the fish tanks and what to use. i think he ate my crab too. and my angelfish has been missing.

ive read about tangs and how they swim miles a day, so i dont wanna put them in a tank not big enough. is a 90 gallon that is 48 inches long still too small?

People are really opinionated about tank size for tangs. Mo0st books would say a 90 is too small for any tang. I personally think it is ok for the yellow but not for the blue (in the long run, you can always take them back to the store.

i want to get a mini blue tang and a small yellow tang. im sure bruce will let me bring them back if they get too big.

Yep, I bet he did. I bought a brand new pistiol shrimp, dropped him in. He crawled right over to a conch shell, where my serpent star lives and bam. Starfish food...

I was not a happy camper BTW...
