Difficult restart - Tunze Turbelle Pumps

Got a lot of you Turbelle pumps, and a few are having difficulty restarting. The propeller seems to be going back and forth and does not appear to be in sink with the motor. Then after about 5-10 minutes it eventually catches and a way it goes till the next time I turn off for feeding and turn back on.

They work great as long as you don't ever turn them off/on.

It's just not one pump doing this I have a few. I did disassemble and give them a good cleaning but didn't help..

It almost appears that the magnets are not catching each other and engaging the propeller....

Any solution?

Can you tell me what models? It sounds like a simple issue but the mechanics vary with the model.

I have one 6015 and one 6025 that are doing this back and forth action for 5-10 mins. before catching and pumping normally. I also going to try another inspection/cleaning tonight too. Will report back any new info after cleaning..

Actually one of the pumps was not a 6025 but rather a 6065....I had another 6065 that was functioning normally but need a cleaning too... So I took both the good one and the acting up out for a cleaning..

I discovered that the last time I cleaned the 6065 that was giving me trouble I did not reassemble the impeller assembly correctly. It had what I would call a bushing on the prop end which should have been on the bottom side or non-prop end.

Documentation does not show in detail the assembly order, had I not had another 6065 that needed cleaning I would never have know my error.

The other small pump 6015 had a calcium build up on the drive unit magnet. once I thoroughly clean that off I no longer had a problem.

I love your products, I have 10 of your pumps and plan only buying two 6105
soon (Do have a question about 6105 I will post in another thread)

I appreciate your attention to that matter..false alarm..sorry

What will generally cause this is that the synchronous pumps correct direction by hitting stops on the inside front cover so something is in the way, calcium on the shaft or the disk being on the wrong end. The electronic pumps never have this problem because they use an electronic system to get them spinning the right way.
