They are two completely different species of corals so the differences are many! Maybe if you have a specific question, that would help narrow things down?
It seems like the same for me, sometimes both called pineapple coral also favia is pretty much look similar.
Acanthastrea is a little bit more inflated than favia so i can understand the differences, but Acanthastrea and Blastomussa seems similar to me.
Can someone upload a picture with differences marked?
Wow! Quite an improvement. I used to buy browned out/dying SPS that were put on sale and you never knew what color they would end up to be. Of course that was before all the parasites got so common.
Nice save. When I saw at first it resembled acan lord. When you see the skeleton in the before pic it has qualities of bowerbanki. Either way it's a beaut.
Quite a testament to your patience and esp. you husbandry skills. Excellent, man!
not to derail this thread, but do you do you have a current pic?
I used to have a sweet bowerbanki about 6-7 years ago when I was last in the hobby...was my favourite coral. scored it from Reef Raft, when they were still only in located in Toronto,Canada, and when Aussie acans were still not available in the US.
damn near brings a tear to my eye
this was the nicest a. bowerbanki i've ever seen, that is, until i saw yours
