Dinitrators?

Was wondering what the current school of thought is
on the dinitrators?

Any downsides?

Are your referring to the Sulfur Denitrator?

My DIY one just completed cycling and it works great. Knowing what I know now, I would never setup a salt water tank without one.

My Nitrate was 100+, now after 3 weeks, it's under 10 and my DIY Sulfur Denitrator was a simple DIY that cost under $50.00

The denitrification filters seem to work, although they can be touchy with respect to water flow. I haven't needed one, so I can't say much from personal experience. I'd suggest adding a refugium and growing and harvesting a macroalgae for a first pass try, and work from there.
