Will try H2O2.
Cleaned out the tank to give the H2O2 a fighting chance.
Drained out most of the water without disturbing the muck too much
Removed all the live rock and the two soft coral and scrubbed of the slimy junk off in a 2 gallons of tank water. Rinsed them in a gallon more.
scrubbed everything off of the side walls and bottom of the main tank. Removed all the junky water.
rinsed main empty tank with 1 more gallon.
Refilled with stored tank water and added ~4 gallon fresh salt to refill.
Tank looks much much better (of course).
If this H2O2 treatment does nothing, then it will go back to this muck slowly over 6 weeks.
Will try 1 week of 1.5 ml/ 15 gal.

Did you do it with lights out or lights on?
Some folks argue lights off for 3 days will cure this problem- try that- not effective in my case. However, my sump which has no lights has none of this, so I guess I could just run a tank with no lights - fun!?
