Dinoflagellates

I recently noticed some brown slime looking stuff on my sand bed and rocks and was able to identify it under a microscope as dinoflagellates. I started a tank blackout for 4 full days, turned my skimmer off (added an airstone in sump for oxygen), added some 5 micron (I believe) filter socks, and stopped water changes.
Its day 4 of the lights being back on, still running in acclimation mode, and I do not see any signs of dinos in the tank. Anyone who has dealt with this in the past, when do you think it is safe to start water changes again?
I am going to start running my skimmer again today. I have not even tested for nitrates, as I do not want to perform any water changes too soon. All fish and coral seem pretty happy still.
Any advice is appreciated!
