Dip for new Zoas

I'm hoping to add some new zoas soon and in reading recent threads about zoas I often see people referring to having dipped new zoas before adding to DT. Most often people don't say what they have dipped in. What dip are people referring to? FW, Furan-2, Iodine?

Thanks, Laura

Various dips can be used,

Iodine/lugols
TMPCC
revive
coralrx
(ive heard people use ) Bayer advance insect killer as well

Bayer is good, but no one knows for sure yet if it kills nudi eggs. The issue with putting the zoanthids directly into your tank instead of quarantining them first is that even after a dip they can have nudi eggs on them that are almost invisible. If they hatch in your display you might have a pretty hard time getting rid of them.

If I were you....and to put your mind at ease, I'd post a poll right here in this forum and ask what has been the most affective pre-entry dip used by other refers here.

I have used the same inexpensive fresh water dip for the past 10 years or more with a slight modification and I am 100% pleased.

Hope this helps...good luck.
