Dip my tang?

well after some research i believe my Yellow tang has paravortex... hes had em for at least 2 days, ive looked up treatments and the main thing i get is a freshwater dip for 3-5 minutes.. yet in other situations i know alot of people say keep the dip as a last resort. so i want to know is there something else i can do? or should i just go on and do the dip?
