Dip, quarantine and acclimation procedure

G'day all

I wish to freshwater dip with methylene blue, acclimate and quarantine all new fish prior to placing them in my display. But how do I achieve this? In what order do I attempt to do this? At what point does the acclimation take place? Given that the temp and ph is the same do I simply dip the fish and then quarantine without any further acclimation??? Or do I acclimate the fish to my QT and then dip or do I acclimate to the dip and then quarantine? Or do I do something else altogether???

Kind regards

Glenn

Those are a lot of questions to answer ;)

I'd suggest going to wetwebmedia.com and looking over their acclimation articles, there is some really great stuff there.

From what I have read, for a freshwater dip, you match the pH and temp of the water the fish is in and the freshwater. I would only do a freshwater dip to check for flukes then follow up QT with a weeks worth of prazipro and 4 weeks of cupramine.
