I got these zoas a few weeks ago and they're on their way out. No other colonies affected yet.

Before:

After:

Should I dip these suckers or toss them and hope no other colonies are affected.
Water params are good and tank is happy, save (pun intended) these guys.

Thanks!

Why do you think they are like that? Any clue?
Need lots more of info from you about your system and when the polyps came in to tell you if I would dip it or not...

I've had them for 3 weeks. I broke the frag plug in half by accident the day I got them, and the 2 halves were placed in different areas of the tank. Both halves have quickly gone downhill over the past week. I'd assume I gave a pathogen a good opportunity for attack when I broke the frag plug.

I'd do an h2o2 dip for 4 or so minutes, maybe 1 parts peroxide to 3-4 parts tank water, just enough to get the frags bubbling, then get them under lower light and higher flow asap.

I don't know much. But one of mine started melting like that. I still saw a polyp bump only. Never saw opening. Recently dipped in water to kill possible nudis. I noticed a few days later new polyps growing already. Looks much healthier now. What is the name of that zoa?

I did the peroxide dip yesterday. Lots of amphipods went scrambling once the peroxide was introduced, but no nudibranchs. The zoanthids had perked up somewhat before the dip and looked not as good as pic 1 and not as bad as pic 2. My gut feeling is that this is a pathogenic fungus or bacterium. If it's a predator, it's leaving all my other colonies alone. If it's bad husbandry, I don't think the decline would have been so fast or drastic. Also, the 2 halves of the frag plug were exposed to differeing conditions regarding light and flow.

I think some people call these "Miami Hurricanse", but I am not totally sure of that. They are definitely worth trying to save.

My colony of zoas were thriving until 3 weeks ago when they slowly strated to lose color and die off. All parameters were wnl. I will try the H2O2 dip and see if any improvement occurs. good luck with your colony

I normally use Lugol's solution instead H2O2 for bacterial infections and funguses. I use H2O2 only for algae on them, if so.
Keep in mind that your polyps are on a piece of live rock and the life from it will be somehow affected by the dipping.
