Dipping Elegance?

Hi,
I am setting up a new tank. My current tank has red acro bugs. Doe anyone know if the bugs infest the whole tank or just acros? I want to avoid transferring them to the new tank.

Has anyone ever dipped an elegance coral? Is it unnecessary? I dont want to harm it not to mention theyre are sponges growing on its skeleton I would hate to kill anything beneficial to the colony. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

In my experience dipping doesn't kill the red bugs unless you overdo it (coral RX/iodine). I wouldn't recommend it for an elegance. As for transferring red bugs, there is a possibility.

If you wanted to do things the "right way" you'd set up a quarantine and use it on anything transferring tanks. That way the red bugs would die off or could be treated.

I have revived dipped elegance corals on many occasions without any negative effects. Red bugs will need to .Bayer dip or coral RX like mentioned above
