I have a baby maxima and it just developed PM. Its not too serious yet.
How long should I dip for? And how many times a day?

thanks
Jay

I could not wait so I did a 4 minute dip and then let is rest in the tank for 30 minutes. I then placed the clam in a shallow container in tank water and a cap full of DTs for 1 hour. Every 10 minutes removing water and replacing it with tank water for aeration.
The clam looks almost 100% better.

Should I repeat this procedure?

without seeing a pic of the clam, i can't say.

PM is quite often misdiagnosed and the treatment can push a stressed clam over the edge. if you made the original diagnosis then you'll just have to watch and see if the symptoms return, then dip again if necessary.

It looks fine now.

How long should I keep the clam in a bowl to feed? And how often?

thanks for responding

jay, having seen the maxima clams available in our area i'm guessing it's at least 1.5" - prob. closer to ~2" and i know of your sps system which i'm confident is spot on. i believe there are differing opinions regarding feeding wrt size, etc., however i don't think it's needed or will help much. it's already stressed and i'd be inclined to leave it be for now. i completely agree with what a4twenty said.

Thanks Marc

The clam is 3 inches. I used a target feeder today and the clam looks great.

I wont remove him from the tank for a while. I do want to make sure he gets enough food though.
