Is it possible to dip sps as a preventative for ick. If not for ick is there a general peventative dipping procedure for sps.

SPS does not get ich

No, but one of the stages of the ick life cycle is substrate borne, so you CAN bring Ick into your tank on SPS frags....

Which is why NOBODY has an ick free tank.

Exactly, I know I can end the life cycle of ick in a fishless QT for 6 weeks but am still curious about dipping as a preventative for ick, red bugs etc.
As far as ick always being present I'll save that argument for another day.

That's a pretty powerful statement, which I'm sure is up for debate. I'll be the first to say I don't have ich. To say I could be introducing it by adding a new frag or coral is a different story, but if someone hasn't introduced ANYTHING in a few months (or longer than the entire lifespan of ich and tomite stages) will most likely not have it.

The whole everybody has ich but is in a dormant phase argument is stupid. Unless you can come up with some sort of scientific evidence, that statement is a buncha bee-ess
