Just thought I would throw this out there. My girlfriend and I are going to the Outer Banks, and this will be our first time driving there from Columbus. If anyone is familiar with the drive, and want to help a fella out, I would sure appreciate it.

I spent my honeymoon in the Outterbanks 7 years ago today. I would type in the destination and see how it takes you.

don't you know you don't mess with the photoshop master?

Sorry I don't have directions, but here is what I remember of my trip there about 8 years ago or so.

It's an awful long drive. I hope you are going to take a break and get a hotel to grab some sleep or maybe have multiple drivers. I did the drive back in college from Tiffin, OH, to the Outer Banks. Actually stayed in Cape Hatteras. I think it was like 14 hours??? The worst part of the drive, oddly enough, was once we got to the Outer Banks and had to drive all the way from the top of the Banks (somewhere north of Killdevil Hills) down to Hatteras. OMG that sucked.

But it's a nice area. Gotta do some kite flying if you go (sounds corny, but get yourself a stunt kite and have some fun). Tour some of the lighthouses...Hatteras, Bodie, and Okracoke lighthouses are pretty easy to get to. Overall, have fun.

and before hurricane season :) I remember going there as a kid. we'd camp on the beach, yea my parents were a bit hippyesk.

I can see you now.. running around in a tie dyed shirt, a diaper but no pants, no shoes on your feet, a messy face with dirt smears all over it.

Mark the hippy kid.. Yup it works.

Been going to the OBX since about 1963 before most of you were born. We usually go at least once a year and stay in Buxton and do a LOT of surf fishing. If you have a 4X4 you can drive down the beach and be totally alone unlike myrtle beach.
