man oh man.. i have a large dark refugium.. use to be a large denitrator and recently converted it.. pic is in my gallery .. but anyways.. i have it set up that gravity feeds into the 55 galon vat and then into my phsphate reactro all in the basement....

tonight i am changing some media.. and notice water is flying...spraying everywhere in the basement mechanccal room... the top of the vat had a hair line crack that just started...

now i have a vat full of rock and water...

need suggestions on large holding containers for dark refugium.. the one i had was great untill tonight... large top opening and then had a large ring/clamp that made a water tight seal... guess after a year or two of pressure the top could not take it.. lots of towels...

lucky i was there... would have kept spraying untill 55 gallon top off and 5o so more gallons hit the floor.. getting water sensors for the floor this week ...

thanks for the info guys.. but what i am looking for is something with a lid on it that is water tight.... anyother thoughts...thanks

Look up 55 gal drums on google. I cannot think of the company name, but I have 3x 55 gal heavy duty food grade plastic drums. All have two access holes in lid, plus lid clamp/ring. They have many models. When I have a chance I will look for the invoice and get you the name. This are great, got the roller dollies for them also. I use for RO/DI holding, Mixed Water, and one is a utility barrel for maint and other odd stuff.
