Took my 55 down to do some painting and packed all animals and in rubbermaid containers w/pumps for circulation and a heater. Done this before and it has worked well. To make a long story short I had to go away for an evening and returned to find water temps in excess of 90. Current losses include 3 fish, only a sailfin tang has seemed to survive. Not sure of the loss of corals to this point. In the process of rebuilding but essentially have performed a 90% water change. (Had some water in containers that did not overheat (about 10 gl.)
Just looking for suggestions on where to go from here. At this point all rock, corals, the sailfin, and critters are back in the main tank. I am mixing water to get this up and running ASAP. I have a circulation pump running in main tank as well. Any advice appreciated.
