Ok... im back from my first run.. I called almost everone, and alot of people picked up some good deals.. Gonna drop some PM's on some other stuff that I picked up and will pass along..

i am goign to be selling like CRAZY...i told my dad that i would like him to drop me off in a different devepment every day next week, tomorrow, and this weekend, ans also the week after next. SO i will make a crap-load of cash. If possible, could you "hold" the lights for me, not buy them, but like make sure that noone else will get them, just the two 250W ones, thats it, i have the money for the skimmer and 2 PH's, and i will ahve the money for the lights hopefully within a week or two. I will get back to you as soon as i get enough, if you can talk him down a litle, that would be AWESOME, but if not, thats ok, it is still a good deal. Just let me know if you could do this please?

Didn't hear from ya. Were you able to find any controllers?
 
Hate to be the naysayer here, but it seems kind of shady that this guy would have a warehouse full of used equipment. I'm not accusing anyone, just saying to be careful. Sometimes a good deal can come with a lot of baggage...

hey boostable im seths friend.... the one who asked about the chiller. If there is any way to get a pic or 2 of the chiller, even with your phone and send them to me or post them here please do so. How bad is the rust? Also does it run good? Ill PM you my cell number.
 
Just trying to point out an observation, possession of stolen equipment comes with hefty penalties. Not to mention, if your stuff was stolen from you, would you want those people making money from it? Food for thought...

FYI still not accusing, merely addressing the whimsical nature that seth/ryan have taken towards buying *possibly* stolen goods
 
well, there is alot you cannot trust these days with the way that people act. Do you feel the smae way about garage sales?
 
man i highly doubt it was stolen and theres no way to know.

So i dont really care

I just cannot pass on a deal like this becuase I really need a chiller for the summer when we go on our month long vacation
 
same, kinda, but im not going to california, or looking for a chiller........ Hey dan, i can glance at you tank every day or so to make sure it is running ok and all......i pet sit for alot of people.
 
No, seth, but there is a big difference between a garage sale and a warehouse full of used aquarium equipment at ridiculously low prices. Now, if I went to a garage sale, and they were selling (for instance) an unheard of amount of nice audio equipment for cheap, I would feel the same way about it...
 
good point.... but may businesses have warehouses full of things that got taken back or that they had exess from..... idk, i jsut dont have a bad feeling about this deal, and jack is there, and i trust him to know if something fishy (hahah) is going on...... so....idk...???a
 
Make your own decisions people, I was just trying to make you all aware of my observation on the issue. You are right ryan, you never know if what you are buying is stolen, and thats whats so awful about it. If, by some offset chance, you do buy something that is stolen, you are held liable for that stolen good. Having it in your possession, dependent on value, etc is enough to get you a court date, a hefty fine, and even jail time dependent on the value of the goods.

This is why I say be careful. Make your own decisions, but just realize that this can come back to haunt you...
 
i know, but i just dont think anything bad about this deal, it may be, but i am goign to take that chance, i am a man that lives on the edge....lol
 
OMG.... Your kidding me right??? Yea, Im gonna put myself in a position to be fencing stolen goods... put myself, my family, and my career at stake?.... I don't think so... give me a break!!!!

I never said it was or was not a business, merely that I got into a discussion with this individual and it went from there. They own a reputable LFS and a very nice one I might add, but their main line of business is doing commercial setups and installs.. every time they do an upgrade or install all the old equipment got stowed away, he now just has it to sell, he doesn't market it, but its available...

Stolen.... come one The only thing hot about this deal, is the deal it self... And yes I will be doing business with them in the future.
 
No need to get defensive. Like I mentioned in my past posts, I do not know the whole story, merely mentioning how it came off to me.
