Hello All,
Today I noticed one of my clowns has a single white spot on the edge of its pectoral fin. I would appreciate any help identifying what this is. My first thought was ich, but I wasn't sure how likely it is to present as a single spot. I quarantined this and all other fish for 4 weeks and they seem to have been extremely healthy during the QT and since. I did not do tank transfer. The clowns were introduced to the display tank as a pair about one month ago. No recent changes to the tank.
For what it's worth, the fish in question seems more aggressive to its mate in the last 24 hours or so. The affected fish is the dominant fish in the pair. The affected fish is still eating.
I'm including the best photos I was able to capture.
Thanks for any help.
Edited to add the requested questions from the sticky:
1. How old is this aquarium? 4 months
2. If less than six months old, what is ammonia level? 0ppm
3. What is SG of this aquarium? How measured? 1.026 with refractometer
4. When was the last fish added to this aquarium? 1 month ago
5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How? QT for 4 weeks treated with prazi 2 rounds 1 week apart per dosage on the label
6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When? Never used copper
7. If you are using hyposalinity, how did you calibrate your refractometer? Never used hypo
8. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color? Single white 'pimple' on pectoral fin (see photos)
9. Please describe the behavior of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish? Active, perhaps more aggressive than usual towards its paired clown. This fish is the more dominant of the two.
10. Is the fish eating? What? Fish is eating. I feed Reef Frenzy frozen food and New Life Spectrum pellets
