dispar anthias feeding question

Have a female Dispar in QT (3 days), not eating yet. LFS had for 9 months (he says) and no problems. I have tried his suggestions, no luck. Any ideas for getting her started? Must be pretty hungry by now. Will pick up some Brine, and maybe cyclopeez tomorrow and try that. Help me out. Thanks BB

try to get some live brine...it should go for that...then ween off with mixed flake/brine...then onto frozen... good luck they can be very finicky eaters... if you see the area behind the eyes, near the dorsal getting "pinched in" looking....that is a bad sign...until then they do have stores of fats and such to live off of and should not starve after several days...they do not like lowered salinities...that could be 1 prob if u have em in QT....and never treat anthias with copper or formalin

I just got two female tukas. The males look almost exactly like purple queen anthias, but the females have a yellow stripe going down the back. What I used (if you don't have live brine) is a mixture of frozen cyclops, rotifers, baby brine, and plankton. And I finally saw them eat that. I shook it all together in a small container and used a turkey baster to shoot it into the flow of my return. It seemed to work for me. Good luck trying it.

I would defintely pick up some Cyclop-eeze. Mine love that stuff. If you get the freeze dried type, stir it vigorously in water first so that it will sink into the water when you feed.

Good luck. After you get this one eating, you should consider picking up some more because this one will teach the others how to eat when they school together.
