Display tank background?

I am setting up a 225gal display tank and was wondering what may be the best background look. Do most tanks go black or blue? I just tried a silver reflective sheet thinking it may help reflect the light around the tank,...the look on my wife's face; like I'm going to freeze dry the fish! It will end up being mostly covered with live rock, but it's just one of those things you just don't think of until it's time.

Thanks.

you can use vinyl sheet on the outside of the back... like for custom graphics on cars and signs...would be hard to do if its already full of water but doable.

Is the tank already full of water? If not, I'd say spray paint the back either black or blue. My personal vote is for black, but I've definitely seen a few tanks with blue backgrounds that strike my fancy. Your best bet is to try a search on the subject or just look in threads with a lot of photos in them to get an idea of what you'd like. When I first got started I asked a similar question and got a lot of responses with a lot of pics. I'll see if I can find that thread and post a link to it for ya.

I will be filling the tank with RO/DI water tomorrow.
I have access from the back, so I wasn't going with something permanent like paint. I could put up a painted 1/8" tile board or something that can be removed.
I've read about crunched up aluminum foil and then flatend out for lighting advantages, but we find it gives it sort of an icey cold feel to it.
I was thinking practical, but I realize that I will need to work with emotional attraction. I'm into the mechanics, plumbing and technology of all this, but this interior decorating thing..."!?#"

I second the painting suggestion. It comes off real quick with a razor blade so it isn't at all permanent (which was a good thing because when I painted my 75 I was sold brown spray paint with a black cap!!)

It looks really snazzy.

is the tank glass or acrylic? for some reason i was thinking it was acrylic...if its glass and its not full spraypaint is cake and looks great...if its acrylic i would go with something a little less permanent...but thats jmo
