Ditch the Fluval 404?

I've got a Fluval 404 mostly just to move water, but I clean it often and change the charcol only. I think I have plenty of flow now, should I keep it running or remove it from the system.

you could just keep runnig it as a mec filter,does not sound like you bio load is to great

You dont specify what type of tank you have. If it's a reef.. Ditch the ceramic media. They work well as a mechanical filter and a chermical (carbon) filter.

I have a 90 gallon beginner reef, just a closed brain and bulb anenome(sp), and a lot of live rock. There is no ceramic media in it, just the foam filters and a couple carbon bags. I have quit a few pumps going, just wondering if I should replace the Fluval with another Seio pump, or just leave it. If I leave it, how ofter should I change the carbon?
