Never thought I would see someone with a Deltec skimmer calling anything pricey:D J/K!

Does your LFS offer a 14 day, money back guarantee? If so, then please tell the rest of us where it is. I'm up for a road trip:)

LOL my deltec was worth every penny. Nope my LFS doesn't have a 14 day back guarantee but every rare fish I ever bought from him was healthy and eating. He quarantees his fish before selling them. Sorry I don't think 14 day live guarantee is worth all of that extra money.

Hey Kevin,
Are you guys planning on offering pairs of fish via this new avenue\?

For example if I was looking for a male and female of a wrasse, will I be able to find that through you in the new diver's den spot, and if so do you take requests? Right now on your liveaquaria website, there are very few fish to specify male vs female.
Thanks,
Steve

Pairs of Fish

Steve,
We currently have numerous pairs of clownfish in quarantine that should be posted to the site in the coming weeks. As far as wrasse pairs, if we are able to acquire males and females we will surely add them to the Divers Den Fish area. The reason that you do not see pairs or harems of these fish available in the trade too often is that most Cirrhilabrus and Paracheilinus wrasse are only collected as males or sub-adult males. Furthermore, juvenile or females wrasse of the genus Cirrhilabrus and Paracheilinus are extremely difficult to differentiate the species in most cases. This is the reason that it difficult to find a true male and female pair or harem of these fish. Rest assured that if these fish are available we will find them and add them to the site after they are quarantined, and eating well. Currently we do not take requests but ask that you check back often to see what is available that day. Thank you.

OK, thanks Kevin for your response,
I guess I was specifically interested in a pair of Cirrhilabrus laboutei, which have a supermale and a pair could be differentiated, I'll keep an eye out on diver's den.

Just to clarify-- a question is what is the difference between fish from divers den vs live aquaria? Both sites currently have a Thalassoma klunzingeri for sale at a $40 difference. Is it the quarantine?

And lastly when ordering tangs from liveaquaria, is HLLE considered a disease by you guys and thus do not get shipped out? Specifically a purple tang that so many LFS seem to get with HLLE, if I ordered one from you guys could it possibly arrive to me with HLLE or are they all healthy from that standpoint. (obviously no guarantee that it won't get it).
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
I will keep an eye out for the Laboutei pair, but these fish normally come in very large showing nice blue male coloration.

The difference between the fish offered in the Divers Den section compared with fish that are offered normally on the LiveAquaria.com web site is twofold. First, the Divers Den fish are hand picked and represent the largest, most colorful, or ones that have a more unique color pattern out of a specific batch of fish. Second, they are then shipped to our facility in Rhinelander Wisconsin, quarantined, and then photographed for the Divers Den (WYSIWYG) section of the site. The pricing of these species are reflected accordingly. All aquatic life offered on LiveAquaria.com is backed by our 14-day ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œArrive Alive, Stay Aliveââ"šÂ¬Ã‚Ã¢â€žÂ¢ guarantee no matter if they are purchased from the Divers Den section or anywhere else on our site.

We choose not ship any Angelfish, Tang or other species unless they are in top condition. If any fish were showing signs of Head and Lateral Line Erosion (HLLE), then we would not ship that fish to any of our customers. I personally would not want to receive a fish with this condition so we choose not to ship them out that way. In my opinion, HLLE is a condition that most larger angels and tangs succumb to from exposure to elevated levels of copper sulfate, poor diet, elevated nitrate levels, as well as other environmental factors, and is not really a disease when first noticed. A secondary bacterial infection may set in after the fish has shown signs of HLLE for long periods of time.

So what is the collectors corner about then? Does it just list fish you have in your genral stock that are harder to find?

Just wondering as I ordered a Aussie scotts wrasse with someone else from you.

Brad23,

Thank you for your post. You are correct that the collectorââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s corner portion of our site is fish acquired in stock that are harder to find and are of limited quantity. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-334-3699 or at customerservice@liveaquaria.com.

Happy Reefing!
