I have two true percs in a 30 gallon long atm, they were purchased together and have been inseparable since I put them in the tank. They are only about an inch and a half, I think they still too small to be truely paired.


A frogspawn was hosting one of them, and he would not let the other one inside, though the other always stayed by the side of the frogspawn, never more than an inch away. They would also sleep side by side close to the frogspawn.

Yesterday I noticed that the one who was not allowed in the frogspawn, found my fuzzy mushrooms which sit close to the frogspawn and are very close in appearance. Today he has taken up residence and leaves the frogspawn to the other.

Is this behavior expected? Will this impair the pairing process since they are not side by side 24/7? I have noticed no aggression and the one who lives in the frogspawn even came over to the mushroom today to visit his X.

Beautiful photos, Adam!! What camera, and most importantly lens, are you using??

I wouldn't worry either. I have 2 anemones and the big Clown wouldn't let the little one in the large LTA. So it played in the BTA. But now they both sleep together in the LTA. Just took a while.

Camera is a pentax k100d, and the lens is the pentax 100mm macro. Great lens, camera body is showing its age I think, only 6 mp, but it gets the job done.

Best thing about pentax is it is still very affordable, lenses are 1/4 the cost of the canon / nikon lenses.

You are dead on. Last night when only my actinics were on, the clown in the mushroom slowly snuck his way back over into the frogspawn and they both slept there last night.

when i was a little younger i managed to snag their SV No. 811137. its about 50 years old but still works like a charm. unfortunately on a trip to an old indian ruin a couple of hours away from my house the piece of felt that changes each slide on the film completely ripped. sadly its going to be 445 dollars to replace. i have yet to do the fix.

i had another problem with a spring the size of a pen tip that came out of its place and eventually had to be replaced. 260$!!!!! i wanted to cry.

Why don't you get the parts that are broken from online and install it yourself? Shouldn't be too hard.
