Very nice clean build. Im in the process of building a stand a a 120g 48x24x24. I like your design of the wide opening. Great job!

Do you need some sort of bracket on the granite to hold the tank in place? If water spilled on the slab isn't there a chance the tank could slide around?

Whats that you have down that's going under the granite?

Seperate topic, but is that your design on the sump as well? I'm in the planning stage of upgrading from a 29 gal biocube to a 60 gallon cube with a 40 breeder sump. Of everything I've looked at so far, this thread is the one I like the most. Do you think I would need to go with 2x6's also?

This is very nice. I'm doing the same with my 110 build.

how did you make the doors? I've solved the issue of wrapping the front and sides with 1/2" ply, now the sticking point is the doors. I have limited tools so there's not a whole lot of fancy that I can do. I have a Miter saw, jig saw and a circular saw, that's it, nothing else.

The doors i make involve making essentially a picture frame out of some trim, attaching it to the ply cutout that makes up the door opening. Overhang the trim so that it sits flush with the front panel when closed. I prefer removable panels instead of hinged doors, so i usually just put magnet catches at the top and make the bottom have a lip/guide so it holds in place and centers the door.

Hrm, I see...I nailed/glued the ply back over the entire frame of the door. Don't think it'll make an overly big deal. Just add's a about 3/4 to the front panel.

You live and learn. first woodworking project.
