DIY 85 gallon and stand

I am in the military and spent the last year or so hanging around in a desert somewhere on the other side of the world. When i came home for some R&R back in May, i started on the tank.

It was supposed to be a 36 x 36 x 22 display, but my carelessness had me welding two of the longer sides together, so I had to trim some off and ended up with a 30x30x22 for approximately 85 gallons or so (display). It is still a pretty open footprint though

Actual dimensions are 36x30x22 because it is an AIO and the filter chamber is 6" deep.

Equipment I currently have:
Tunze 9012 skimer
Build my LED lighting before they closed the aquarium operation (36")
Tunze silence pump 211 gph (need to upgrade though, you will see why during water test)
RKL
2x WP-40 (Jaebo versions of the gyre maxspect)

Equipment I will get
Tunze Osmolator
Heater
RODI

Tank is 1/2" acrylic, it is eurbraced, which is why the strap around the tank in the first picture

1" shelf for some rocks to serve as my SPS cliff

After I got back (early september), it was time to put in work on the stand.

decided on 2x6, here it is cut down and milled to size

My main toy for putting in the work

And framed up

The little cubicles, i adopted from an aquarium i saw that had bookshelves built into it. And with this eventually going into my wife's office (she works from home), i decided to adapt and make them into lighted cubbies for pictures.

And here we go, the tank has been built. I still will need to make a canopy at a later date and stain the stand.

Left side

Left side open just storage space, nothing special

Right side

Right side, will cut opening for cables to run to the back of the switch box

In complete darkness

This is my filtration area: Far left is open on the bottom to correspond with the hole you see on the top of my stand. Since this will have a canopy, I will route all the wires / cables through that hole and plug into my switch box. Hiding it all and giving the tank a clean appearance

Next chamber is my overflow, filter floss or pad at top, followed by carbon, then thinking of some biopure blocks at the bottom

Then into my skimmer chamber, followed by chaeto area then finally into return.

The far right section will be my top off water reservoir.

And here it is....canopy to be built at a later date....time for me to get back to work, leave is over. Gotta travel to outprocess.

Thank u. So tank and stand are in Texas, and I just came back to Alaska to finish out my tour and out process. Only have 3 weeks left up here then off to Virginia for 6 months of school. THEEEEEN, my next duty station.

That is where it will be set up. So this project is on hold until then. LOL
