DIY acrylic top for 24DX?

Hi everyone,

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m thinking about upgrading my 24DX hood to a 20ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ Sunpod 150 HQI. If I do this I would like to get a piece of acrylic cut to sit nicely over the 24gal Nano. Any thoughts on the best way to do this? As a grad student I am limited in tools and mostly to the east bay. Thanks for the thoughts!

Just take the measurements that you need, run over to your local hardware store, buy a sheet of acrylic, and have them cut it for you. I know OSH hardware stores cut acrylic/glass for free.

The 24 isa semi bowfront right? Or at least oru nded front corners.. If the tank was empty you could flip it upside down and trace it for a pattern then take it to tap and have them cut it to fit...
