OK, Not that many people would read this far down with this confusion but just to clarify I got two people with misconceptions on these ATO systems.

YOU DO NOT NEED A TANK CONTROLLER OF ANY KIND, these systems are self sustaining, and need no other computer or controller.
I had two people who thought, "You have to have a tank controller to have an ATO, right?"

Just to clear up, nothing else is needed to make these units run except the pump (I recommend Aqualifter)

Monday is pretty much your last day to order and still get in on this great system. IF YOU DO order on Monday YOU MUST get 2nd DAY shipping or your parts will not arrive in time for the build..
 
Ohhh im getting excited lol I started messing with building mine last weekend. Sorry teach i openned the test book early. Still feel like im missing something though. Steve we need to talk. Does it go switch > recept > terminal block? Or tap the hot before the switch?

hahahah well that's a subject I was going to bring up to the masses, I have done them both ways, switch before plug and switch after, it's reall personal pref.

Don't know what the terminal block is for though?
 
Also i made up my powerside of the J-box for a switched plug but i was looking at the wiring instructions that came with the kit and to me there instructions seem kinda hackerish. IDK since i havent done one of these before. But i definatly dont like the whole extension cord stripping thing when S/O cord is so cheap and so are cord caps.
 
I don't care for the way Aquahub tell you to hack an extension cord.
I use an extension cord for power but don't pull it apart in the middle :)

I don't really need the connections for the ICE cube but we can use them.
 
Thanks, Steve. I'll dig through my box'o'lectric crap tonight and see if I have one.

Are we soldering our connections? Will you be providing shrinktube? If not, I'll grab some from Frys for the group on my way over.
 
Yes we will be soldering all low voltage connections, and all relay connections.

I have some shrink tubing, but we could always use more.
I don't have very much...

I will bring the adapter in case you or someone else needs it.
 
how do we set the mold-a-holder do we need to take a measurement to the waterline of the sump? otherwise how we gonna know how low to mold it to sit down in out sumps?
 
Well as long as these stay in the USA and outside the UK we should be safe :)

David, we won't need any measurments, just the mold a hold..
It will all make sense tomorrow :)
