If the controller is connected to a computer with an internet connection then the Monitor portion can be used with Remote Desktop.

I wish that I had the brains!

Very nice! If I could make one of these, I would do it. But then again, why spend $200 making a controller for a 30g?

You mentioned that you intended for it to be an open source project?
I'm working on something similar with the microchip pic18f series, maybe you could offer a leg up.

I am all about open source when it does not include someone getting rich from the work everyone else has done. Let me know what you need and I will help out with what I can. as long as the end game is open source.

feed mode can be started by pressing the enter key when you are in the monitor mode.

For all of you code junkies out there I have finished up the latest firmware update. It includes a light acclimation routine. Seasonal sunrise, sunset, weather patterns routines. Increase the light support from 8 to 12 light definitions. 4Khz alarm.

This is a major firmware update so the eeprom structure had to change. You will not have to recalibrate the controller but you will have to resetup all of your device profiles.

Those who want it let me know.

Thanks Rufio173.

This thing turned out much better then I planned. It took a little over a year and a half and three proto-types before I got it the way I wanted it.

Update!

Finally got the new overlay and membrane buttons.

The cost in the overlay with membrane switches is the tooling charge for the switches. I bought a standard switch and then designed the overlay around that. I used a standard local screen printer to print it. It cost about 1/4 of what an overlay would cost with switches. It is a bit more work putting it all together but well worth the money.

Wow, very nice controller. Im now not sure if I should buy neptune aquacontroler or wait little longer to find out more(performance/bugs) about rc-squared controller. If the price/performance is right i would go with rc-squared. By the way.....when r u going to reveal the prices? will u ship to canada?

Monsta... Wav3form... You guys will need to contact RON byPM. Lets not talk about "selling" these units here please :) Commercial posts are not allowed and RON (and the rest of us) certainly do not want this thread to get locked.

If you look back over th thread RON is providning a lot of information that many DIY controller guys will find valuable.
