diy eurobrace

im looking for links, pics, and advice on diy eurobracing.. in thinking about eurobracing a perfecto 36x18 65g.. i want to remove the upper trim entirely..

layout of the panes?
panes same thickness of tank?
double up in the center and corners?
do i really need the center? how wide?
regular aquarium or 100% GE is fine right?

any insight would be greatly appreciated
