Has anyone made a magnetic one of these? What did you do for the magnet? I don't want use a magfloat I would prefer a magnet on each end like eshopps frag rack.

I was hoping for something I can get quick and local. Want to frag my kenya tree and some zoas to start giving back to the CDP.

A frag rack is a bad idea for those kind of frags.

Get a Tupperware container. Drill or poke as many small holes as you can into it. Place rubble on the bottom of the container for the frags to attach to. Put the frags in. Cover the top of the Tupperware with some kind of netting. You can use the net oranges come in or something like that. Hold that in place with rubber bad. Sink the whole thing to the bottom of your tank for a week or two until the frags attach.

Then what? My tank is not very big its only a 40B so retail space is limited. Need somewhere to "store" them until they can go bye bye. Maybe I will use my breeder net...

I make my rack with a little pice of acrylic I mark the rack with 1" squares then I drill them right on the middle that give me more space for my plugs that the regular eggcreate.
Send me your number and I send you some pictures
I used the magnets from a old algae scraper :)

Tupperware idea I described or your breeder net until you get them to stick. After they are attached you can place them on a frag rack.

no useful tips as to where to find the magnets though? Im in the same boat.. 40B and want to make a magnetic rack for my zoas and new SPS frags

You can also buy rubber coated magnets but only online. Or you can make an acrylic rack and put the magnets inside small "boxes" on the bottom/side of the rack. Just make sure you seal it up watertight with the acrylic welding glue.
