I'm currently working on my LED lights and would like to get some feedback on the positioning of my LEDs. I have 50 LEDs on two heatsinks. Heatsink size is 12 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches and it is made of aluminum. I plan on cooling with two 120mm fans on each heatsink.
Here are the LEDs I have
6 Luxeon M Royal Blue
12 Cree XT-E Neutral White
6 Cree XP-E2 Blue
6 Semi Led True Violet 400-410
6 Semi Led True Violet 410-420
4 Philips ES Lime
4 Cree XP-G2 Warm White
6 Philips ES Cyan
I've attached the layouts i've come up with. The first is just a giant 5x5 square. Then 2nd is 3 cluster of 7 LEDs with 2 LEDs in between the clusters.
I have optics but not sure if i'll use them, i plan on having these lights sit about 6-10 inches above the water.
Just looking for feedback on which would be better for light distribution. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
