Has anybody made any rather inexpensive but attractive light hangers?
I am looking to try and make one for my new tank build that will attach to the back of my stand and hold the lights over the tank rather than hang them off the ceiling....let me know your thoughts!
Thanks!

Do you know any electricians or plumbers? If so, you can use EMT (electrical metallic conduit) to make a bracket. You can have 2 pieces attached to the back of your stand with a 90degree bend on both pieces, and then drill through the pipe to hang a cable attached to your lights.

i used aluminum angle welded and painted it black. it gos from side to side tho not from the back...hanging two halides and two 48" diy led strips.

I just made a small frame out of wood painted it black everyone that saw it said it looked great the nice thing is it was very light and easy to remove.

I am going to look into the conduit later....seems pretty easy to do. I need to figure it out fast as the tank is going up tomorrow....

Galvanized Jeff...tarty. I just left it unfinished but my wife preferred the industrial look on that particular tank.

Thinwall conduit would work just fine as well. It can hold a lot of weight, given that where its mounted on the pipe is not excessively far away from the bend in the pipe. If you are concerned, just upsize the conduit, or use Rigid. Lowes and Home Depot both should have what you need
